Chad Vaughan. Olympian.

CrossFit Central and OLYAthlete will be hosting the biggest olympic lifting seminar to come to Austin! If you have ever wanted to improve your lifting, now is the time. Mark your calendars for January 30th, 2011.

The OlyAthlete seminar focuses on the two Olympic style lifts: snatch and clean and jerk. Head coaches, Chad Vaughn and Ursula Garza first begin by delving into the science behind the technical movements, then move into progressions to develop and assist the lifts. Different from other seminars, each athlete receives significant platform time, allowing each athlete to receive true personal coaching.

The seminar is 1 day, JANUARY 30th, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM for $300, that includes:

Biomechanical Analysis of the lifts
Progressions for the Snatch
Progressions for the Clean
Progressions for the Jerk
Supplemental exercises for the lifts
Personal platform time with training weights

Chad and Ursula were able to point out, and correct just two small faults in my clean and jerk. Over the next two months of training I added 40 lbs to my squat clean 1 RM. I recommend their seminar to anyone that is dedicated to being a competitive CrossFitter, athlete, or weightlifter.

SICFIT 12-07-10

A. Warmup.

B. 3 rounds, each for time:
-10 sprawl to KB high-pull (24/16kg)
-50 double unders
-10 shoulder to shoulder pullups (nobody liked these…).

C. 3 deadlift, 1 powerclean, 3 front squat. x5
*If competing at ACO, stay light, work on perfect technique. If not, go for heaviest weight possible without dropping the bar.
